First of all, let's differentiate between contact hours and PDUs:
- Contact hours are to prepare for exams. For example, there is 35 contact hours requirement for PMP exam, 30 (or 40) contact hours requirement for PMI-RMP and PMI-SP exam
- PDUs are for Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program to renew the certificates after you pass the exams. For example, there is 60 PDUs requirement for PMP renewal, 30 PDUs requirement for PMI-RMP and PMI-SP renewal.

Claim contact hours for multiple certifications (exam preparation):
Contact hours earned during the preparation for PMP examination CAN BE USED for PMI-RMP examination if those contact hours are in the specialized area of project risk management. For example, if you earn 35 contact hours for PMP and there are 10 hours of risk management, then you can claim 35 PMP contact hours AND 10 PMI-RMP contact hours.

Contact hours earned during the preparation for PMP examination CAN BE USED for PMI-SP examination if those contact hours are in the specialized area of project schedule management. For example, if you earn 35 contact hours for PMP and there are 15 hours of schedule management, then you can claim 35 PMP contact hours AND 15 PMI-SP contact hours.

Conversely,
- All PMI-RMP contact hours can be claimed for PMP contact hours.
- All PMI-SP contact hours can be claimed for PMP contact hours.

Claim PDUs for multiple certifications renewal:
The same for PDUs for CCR program:
- All PDUs for PMI-RMP renewal and PMI-SP renewal can be claimed for PMP renewal
- Some PDUs for PMP renewal can be claimed for PMI-RMP renewal and PMI-SP renewal based on the amount of time spent on each particular area.

Claim contact hours for exam preparation AND PDUs for certification renewal:
Contact hours for another certification such as PMI-RMP and PMI-SP can be used to complete the PDU requirements for your PMP renewal. If the course was not pre-registered by an REP, you will need to claim the PDUs using Category B.
